It appears Croatia are set for a big summer ahead and Vrsaljko could be busy beyond his time in Russia as well.
That’s because Premier League big guns Chelsea are tracking him.
Inter Milan and Napoli have both cooled their interest in the 26-year-old.
But TMW add that he is possibly leaving Spain after just two seasons.
Vrsaljko has started both of Croatia’s opening Group C victories at the World Cup but wasn’t an ever-present for Atletico last term. He made 21 appearances in La Liga and was substituted at half-time in their Europa League final win over Marseille.
Vrsaljko, rated at around £25m, could be drafted in to provide more competition.
It remains to be seen what will happen with Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge and his future may have to be sorted out before any signings can be made.
